Day One.

It's the first day of the new blog, and I’ve decided to call it TotallyAmy.   Whenever I go shopping and I find something I like I always say “It’s TOTALLY me!”     I am a computer programmer by day and teaching myself to quilt in my free time.     For Christmas my husband bought me a new sewing machine ... a Singer XL6000.  I must confess it's a bit intimidating!  I'm still scared to try the embroidery part of the machine.     He bought it from a nice woman on EBAY who decided it was too complicated to use.  Yeah for me!

Anyway, this is the first quilt that I attempted to make.   It came from a kit that I think I purchased somewhere in Utah when I was visiting family.  And I think it was on clearance!   I had some problems when I was doing the triangles!   Sometimes they matched up perfectly, and sometimes they didn’t.  Yeah for hte yo-yos that are covering that part! 

Have I mentioned that before I got my new fabulous sewing machine, I hadn’t touched one in at least 10 years?
